More than 1,000 business leaders from around Utah gathered at the 10th Annual Utah Economic Summit, April 15, 2016.
Red Barn was honored to be invited by Scott Anderson, the President and CEO of ZIONS Bank, the premier sponsor of the event.
In his speech, Scott Anderson highlighted the many start-up companies that competed in the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, Red Barn being one of them.
In his closing remarks, he presented Utah Governor Gary Herbert with a custom journal. Specializing in personalized gifts, Red Barn did a little research and discovered that some of the Governor's favorite books included Tarzan and The Hardy Boys.
And so we found the perfect vintage Tarzan book from 1956.
"Are you sure he likes Tarzan?" asked Mike Winder, the VP of ZIONS Bank.
"It said it on his public profile, so yes, we believe so," and then crossed our fingers.
And so on stage, in front of an audience of 1,100 attendees, the Governor was publicly presented this gift.
It was a hit!
Not only does the Governor love Tarzan, he then opened his speech talking about Tarzan and how he owns all the vintage copies and the lessons he learned from those stories growing up. This lasted for over a minute!
ZIONS bank also gave 400 of our custom journals to the attendees of the event. The entire Red Barn Family wants to acknowledge their generosity and kindness.
