The Yankee Church Supper Cookbook was born from a simple idea shared among the editors of Yankee Magazine. The best food in any community is not found in restaurant kitchens or glossy publishing houses. It is found at church suppers, potlucks, and parish tables where neighbors bring the dishes they are known for. Lasagnas, lemon pies, casseroles, family specialties that carry flavors shaped by time, tradition, and the hands that made them.

In 1980, churches across New England were invited to share their treasured recipes. Hundreds responded. Each recipe was individually reviewed, tested, and lovingly selected by home cooks who understood these dishes were meant for real tables and real families. No recipe made it into the final book unless it truly tasted delicious.

This paperback printing has been carefully preserved and handcrafted into a one of a kind hardcover journal. The original cover is professionally mounted onto sturdy book board and bound with care.
